Elder brother of Lucatiel of Mirrah. He was known as one of Mirrah's greatest swordsmen but became afflicted by the Undead Curse and set out for Drangleic in search of a cure. He was never heard from again and his fate and whereabouts were unknown - until now…

Aslatiel is an invader that is encounter at the entrance to Aldia's keep, the last bonfire we meet Lucatiel at.

His success is likely why he began to hollow. Hollowing comes about when an undead begins to lose their sense of purpose or motivation, whether this be because they completed what they deemed their purpose to be, or simply lacked one in the first place. Aslatiel's source of motivation came from escaping the social caste which he was born into, and once he became a highly decorated knight, he lost his sense of purpose and began to hollow.

Aslatiel had already succeeded greatness and martial aptitude; where could he go from there? That was likely all he wanted, and once he achieved it he lost his purpose.
